How to find the motivation to show up and attend every gym session.


Around 30 Percent of Australians have a gym membership those with membership 27 per cent barely use it, going less than once a week or not at all. The 27 per cent are giving a whopping 1.8 million dollars to the gym industry for not showing up.


Why do many Australians join the gym?

The highest level of enrolments is just after the new year. New year New me right? We go into the year with the highest intention of going to the gym every morning to be our best selves.


What stops us from going, I thought this is what we wanted?

- The first reason is we lose the reason we wanted to get fit and healthy in the first place. It is easy to get tired or lazy and don’t show up as we can't shake a bad mindset. Remind yourself of why you joined, what you wanted from your experience. We all have those days where we just don’t feel motivated but reminding yourself of the reasons behind the push will get you motivated and gym ready. If you still don’t get the motivation from this do a vision board of what a healthy lifestyle looks for you. Put this up near your bed for when you wake up needing some inspiration.

- My friend went with me, but they have decided not to go anymore, so I didn’t go either. I get it the gym feels a little different without your fitness bestie. Doing a workout alone can give you time to just be with your thoughts giving you the opportunity to think without too much distraction from other people, and to work through any personal issues or stress you're experiencing.
