Below are a few steps you can take to start implanting self-love in your daily life.
1. Affirm ourselves
Having a little love for ourselves can make a huge difference it the way we interact with others. Without realising we tend to portray ourselves more negatively than we feel. Think about when you watch other women criticise themselves about the way they look. You would probably prefer to be around someone who can be proud of their imperfections and their own skin. repeat these to yourself while looking at yourself in the mirror. Feel the positive feedback that you're giving to yourself.
2. Body Language
How is your posture? Your body language speaks a thousand words. Make sure your hold yourself up with pride. I am one to say I was awful at this. However, I was once told to think of your back is a piece of rope. Try and keep that rope straight at all times. If it bends correct it. I was portraying a weak, unhappy person to the outside world by slouching I had no idea I was doing this. When someone you love speaks to you, don’t be distracted. Make eye contact with them at all times and make sure you are really listening. These two things will help you with your communication with others and to help portray to the world whom you want to be.
3. Exercise and eat healthy
Getting a happy buzz from working out for 30 minutes a few times a week can boost your overall mood. When you do this as well as combining it with eating the right foods your body is going to respond. You will generate positive feelings which will reflect on how you interact with others. Exercise can be used as a great stress reliever, before venting to your loved ones about your frustrations, try taking it to the gym and see how you feel afterwards.
4. Do things for you!
Start doing the things your good at and enjoy doing. Those talents you have, show them off to the world and to yourself. Spend 1 hour a week on something you enjoy. When you start doing the things you enjoy your mood will respond. Be authentic and real, be proud of the talents you have that set you apart from everybody else. The more authentic you are, the more you will attract like minded people.
5. Be self-aware
Start loving who you are and what makes you unique such as your strengths and weaknesses. When you start to learn more about yourself and how you act in certain situations, you will start to gain a self-awareness that will further your appreciation with yourself as well as the people you surround yourself with.
Recognise the things that make you unique and be proud and embrace those parts of you that set you apart from everybody else.
By being self-aware, you will start to feel whole and fulfilled within yourself. This will help you to give compliments to others once you feel complete you can help others feel full too.
